Concrete Mixers
Although small quantities of concrete can be mixed by hand, the work is much eased by using a powered conrete mixer. These are generally powered by electricity or a petrol engine. If electricity is available close to the workings, an electric mixer should be preferred option as they are quieter and cheaper to run. Make sure you have a circuit breaker plugged into the power socket to protect you from electric shock if an accident occurs.
It is important to wash out the mixer thoroughly after each load is used up as otherwise the mortar or concrete will set in the drum and reduce effeciency as well as incure a cleaning cost when the machine is returned to the hirer.
