Ease of Use

Make sure that you can approach the pond easily and that there is going to be provision for seating area near the pond on a flat surface. Consider placing a pergola, barbecue or dinign area near the pond.

Stepping stones sunk into a lawn will allow you to approach the pond during the winter or when the grass is wet. Make sure that the stones are well set into the ground and will not interfere with the mowing. People naturally congregate by a pond so make enough space for it.
