Erect fins
A lively fish will tend to carry its fins well extended. The dorsal (back) fin is often flicked open and shut, usually as the fish hovers or changes direction, and is generally held down as a fish flicks the caudal (tail)fin to propel it over short distances. However, in a long-tailed variety, the caudal fin will not be carried as fully extended
