Paving Materials

A vast range is available at widely differing prices, with natural stone the most expensive. If purchasing natural stone to edge a pond, remember that, unlike in most other situations, the depth of the stone is important because the edges of the pavers will be seen, so consistency in depth should be specified.

Manufactered pavers, made to look like natural stone, are also available. The better ones age well and become indistinguishable from natural stone when lichens and other materials age them. Others lose their colour quickly and can become an eyesore, so choose carefully.
